What is it?

HYPSKIN®, a registered trademark of Assessa, is a bioactive ingredient. "A bioactive is a substance present in food sources that offers health benefits," explains Dr. Luiz Romancini, a physician with a postgraduate degree in dermatology. "Examples include carotenoids, polyphenols, polysaccharides, among others."

HYPSKIN® is a high-performance anti-aging bioactive based on sulfated polysaccharides from sustainably harvested seaweed off the northeast coast of Brazil. A clinical study showed that HYPSKIN performs similarly to Retinol on the skin. HYPSKIN is easy to formulate and does not irritate the skin.

To bring benefits to your body, a bioactive ingredient can act in various ways, from offering antioxidant action to providing anti-inflammatory care.

HYPSKIN® is specifically composed of two types of elements: sulfated polysaccharides and polyuronic acids. Both are obtained from seaweed: the former come from the Rhodophyceae class, and the latter from the Phaeophyceae class.

Therefore, one of the advantages of adding a skin product with this component to your skincare routine is that it's good not just for yourself. The seaweed is sustainably harvested by women from a community on the Brazilian Northeast coast.

Results

Regarding HYPSKIN® results, tests reveal that it begins to show visible changes in the skin from 21 days of use. This will vary depending on the skin type, but ensure you maintain a solid and daily routine for the best effects.

An active ingredient Retinol-like

Clinical tests demonstrated that after 56 days there is NO STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE between Hypskin and Retinol treatment.

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
Similar visibility coefficient and occupancy rate parameters.
  • Color intensity and homogeneity of spots
Similar contrast in the adjacent area or in the spot area. Similar brightness (ITA parameter) and similar color (Delta E parameter).
  • Cellular Cohesion
    Equivalent desquamation indices.
  • Skin density
Similar echogenicity intensity and skin thickness.

Mechanism of action

  • HYPSKIN activates specific sensors on the skin's surface, stimulating the release of important cytokines.
  • Cytokines act at deeper levels of the epidermis and dermis.
  • The action on epidermal cells is selective for keratinocyte proliferation and activity.
  • The result is a more homogeneous melanin distribution and a more even skin tone, with fewer blemishes. Activated keratinocytes also release cohesion proteins such as filaggrins, leading to a better-structured stratum corneum.

  • Other cytokines reach the dermis, stimulating blood flow and metabolic exchanges.

  • They also stimulate fibroblast activity, the production of collagen, elastin, and other components of the extracellular matrix.

  • Dermal density is improved, increasing skin firmness and reducing the quantity and depth of wrinkles.

  • The result of this process is a more homogeneous, structured, cohesive, firm, healthy, and younger-looking skin.
